DELUGE SYSTEM PRESSURE REGULATING (REMOTE RESETTING)
A pressure-regulating deluge valve combines the functions of a standard deluge control valve with the ability to automatically maintain a stable downstream pressure during system operation. This type of valve opens to deliver water to open nozzles or spray systems while simultaneously throttling internal flow to prevent excessive discharge pressure that could damage piping or nozzles. The valve achieves this through an integrated pressure-control pilot system that senses outlet pressure and modulates the main valve diaphragm accordingly. Many modern designs also incorporate a remote-resetting feature, allowing the valve to be hydraulically or electrically re-primed from a distant control station after operation. This eliminates the need for manual access, which may be impractical or unsafe. Such functionality is particularly valuable in long road or rail tunnels, aircraft hangars, petrochemical facilities, or offshore platforms where rapid restoration of system readiness and controlled pressure delivery are critical to safety, equipment protection, and post-incident system recovery.
