Trim Valves
Fire protection trim valves are small auxiliary valves used to control, isolate, or regulate flow within fire protection systems. They may function as stand-alone valves on system piping or as integral components on the trim piping of larger system valves such as alarm check valves, deluge valves, or preaction valves. Their purpose is to facilitate testing, draining, priming, venting, or pressure regulation in localized parts of the system.
Common types include ball valves, valued for quick shutoff; check valves, which prevent backflow; and globe valves, available in straight or angle patterns, offering precise flow regulation and compact installation options. These valves are critical for operations such as controlling water to pressure gauges, supplying priming water to valves, or isolating alarm devices. By enabling accurate system control and maintenance access, trim valves contribute to the safe and dependable function of automatic fire protection systems.
