Dry Air Generators
Dry air generators are specialized devices used in fire protection systems to supply clean, moisture-free air or gas into sprinkler piping. They are especially critical in cold storage sprinkler systems, where condensation and ice formation inside piping can obstruct sprinklers and compromise system reliability. Unlike standard air compressors, dry air generators incorporate advanced moisture-removal features that ensure long-term piping integrity.
These units typically include filters to remove particulates and oil vapors from the compressed air stream, preventing contaminants from entering the system. They also employ a desiccant dryer, which absorbs and removes moisture to achieve extremely low dew points. By supplying this ultra-dry air, the generator prevents internal pipe corrosion, microbial growth, and freezing issues.
In applications where the sprinkler system must remain free of ice and internal deterioration—such as refrigerated warehouses, food processing facilities, or any system requiring extended service life—dry air generators are essential. They not only improve operational reliability but also significantly extend the longevity of fire protection piping systems.
