Storage Sprinklers
Storage sprinklers are intended for high-piled, high-challenge storage applications and are specially engineered to control or suppress intense fires involving commodities stored in racks, piles, or shelves that generate high heat release rates. These include Early Suppression Fast Response (ESFR) sprinklers and larger-orifice Control Mode Density Area (CMDA) as well as Control Mode Specific Application (CMSA) sprinklers. Typically designed for high water discharge, they produce large water droplets that penetrate thermal updrafts and reach deep into burning storage arrays. These sprinklers are listed to protect storage heights up to 45 feet or more and are tested under demanding protocols. They can often eliminate the need for in-rack sprinklers in many configurations. Specially tested and Listed Storage Sprinklers are critical for protecting warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial storage facilities.
